The Four Way Test
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill & better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Service Committees
Club Service
This so called “first avenue of service” involves
activity within the club to help it function successfully on
a day to day basis so it can efficiently carry out its other
functions for the community & the members. The Vice
President is the Club Service Director.
Vocational Service
This “Second avenue of service” aims to promote high ethical
standards in business & professions, recognises the work of
all useful occupations & fosters the ideal of service in all
vocations. Includes programs targeted at youth in academic,
vocational & sporting areas.
Community Service
The “Third avenue of service” includes the many efforts the
Rotarians make to generally enhance the assets of their life
local community & to improve the quality of life for
community members, especially those who may be
disadvantaged.
International Service
Rotary’s “Forth avenue of service” involves many programs
and projects which advance international understanding,
goodwill and peace. It involves everything from a massive
program to eradicate Polio worldwide, through helping
provide vital assets in third world villages, to simply
personal contact with other cultures and customs.
Fellowship
People join Rotary for many reasons, including of course the
chance to serve the community and to be a part of an
organisation that CAN help change the world for the better.
However friendship and fellowship are also an important
motivation for members. |
